Relay Events For All
Because there are so many people who want to be involved in Relay For Life,
we offer a little something for everyone.
Young Professionals play a pivotal role in enhancing the mission of the American Cancer Society in every state and in every community across the country. We are here to save lives and help you fulfill yours through meaningful volunteer experiences, networking opportunities, fundraising events, mission programs and more - helping you find your passion and make a tangible difference so we can save lives and diminish suffering from cancer.
College students are the future and inspire us with their passion and energy for the cause. Join over 300,000 college students from more than 465 campuses across the country by hosting a collegiate Relay For Life event.
Bring a Relay For Life event to your school. These events help develop leadership and community service by encouraging students to lead and support their peers and teachers and can make a big impact on your campus and your community. Talk to your local staff partner about starting a Relay For Life event at your high school.
Schools vs Cancer
The Schools vs Cancer program is a great way to drive home the message that it’s never too soon to adopt healthy habits to improve overall health and prevent cancer. The activities and educational materials provided with the Schools vs Cancer program teach children and their families how to make positive choices for healthy living and cancer prevention, including nutrition, physical activity, sun safety, vaccines, and tobacco prevention.
These healthy behaviors have a huge impact beyond preventing cancer, too; they can help kids feel better and perform better in school. More importantly, kids who establish healthy habits early are more likely to lead healthy lives as adults. This will not only help prevent cancer , but also other serious diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
The Schools vs Cancer program also fosters team building. Through friendly competition, your school can come together for a cause that touches everyone. The program teaches students the importance of community service and promotes your school as one that is dedicated to saving lives from cancer. It is a great way to build school spirit and to establish closer relationships among teachers, students, and parents. Your Schools vs Cancer program provides an opportunity to make a positive statement about the contributions young people are making in society today.
To help you launch your Schools vs Cancer program, we offer lots of helpful fundraising and educational resources to show kids how they can live healthier lives and reduce their cancer risk. Our guides and activity sheets will make learning about the benefits of good nutrition and physical exercise fun for your students.
BARK FOR LIFE
The American Cancer Society Bark For Life is a fundraising event honoring the life-long contributions of our canine caregivers. These dogs demonstrate unconditional love, joy, compassion, and no judgments of cancer survivors' abilities or appearances.
Families and their dogs come together for a few hours during the day and complete a walk to honor the caregiving qualities of their canine "best friends" and cancer survivors. Activities can include:
- Doggie games
- Top dog and dress up contests
- Team and community fundraising
- Music and food
- Special dog guest demonstrations by groups such as: therapy, police, or rescue dogs
At Bark For Life events, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, find new support systems, and make lots of new friends.
If you would like to create your own Bark For Life event or just want to learn more about it, call 1-800-227-2345.
MORE ABOUT RELAY
Would you like to lead the team or join the team?
This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
