ANOTHER SUMMER in the books. The years are flying by.  

This year I would like to dedicate DEBBIE'S TEAM'S walk to a very good friend of mine who was recently diagnosed.  Thanks to the research ACS supports and all of the new treatments she is feeling and doing fine.  She and her husband have been so supportive of our team - they have been there for me and for everyone since the beginning of my walking days.  So she has been added to my prayers and I want to say how very proud I am of her strength and courage. T - this walk's for you.

16 years later, my life has changed dramatically. I have become acutely aware of time. I know that it is a precious gift. The time I have been granted has afforded me the opportunity to watch the transformation of my children - from great kids to amazing adults. The joy has been multiplied exponentially with the introduction of grandparenthood. Twins, no less! Couldn't get any better than that. They're beautiful, smart, kind and loving. AND THEY JUST STARTED 3rd GRADE!!!!!!!  I have been granted the privelege of watching them grow into delightful little people. They make me laugh, they warm my heart and they are simply awesome. And, as of Aug. 2022, they live on the east coast. I know I am so blessed.

The most important message I can share from my experience is this: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure that you are vigilant and tend to any changes in your body. It does send signals when something's wrong. Never ignore a symptom with the hope that it will just go away by itself. You, alone, are responsible for checking with your physicians. YOUR life is in YOUR hands.

Now, let's stamp out breast cancer. In order to do that, we must be a stronger force than those nasty cells that grow and multiply. Let's keep fighting until our wives, mothers, daughters, & grandaughters (and you men - be vigilant as well) do not have to ever think or worry about this plague.

MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER is coming up on Sunday, October 16th. I realize that the state of our nation, actually, our world is uncertain.  Things are changing constantly.  So, for now, the plan is to walk.  I will certainly keep everyone posted.

I would love to count on DEBBIE'S TEAM to be there in support by sending donations to fight breast cancer as we have been for more than a decade.  Let's raise as much as we can.  Hopefully we're getting closer to a cure.  I know I can count on the people who have been so wonderful and generous in the past.  Thank you in advance for your help.
