Welcome to My Personal Page

In September 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

My journey has been one of fear, growth, love and mostly gratitude.  While this wasn’t a club I wanted to join, I am grateful for the care and support I received.

We have come a long way in the prevention, detection, treatment and support of breast cancer.  But there is so much more we can do. The American Cancer Society funds breakthrough breast cancer research, provides free information and support, and helps people reduce their great cancer risk or find it early when it may be more treatable.

I am walking and raising funds in honor of:

My incredible doctors/clinicians at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center - Dr. Audree Tadros, Dr. Joseph Dayan, Dr. Vance Broach, Barbara Seidel, Erin Reynolds and their teams.  God assembled the exact team I needed — not only brilliant, skilled clinicians, but amazing, caring humans (the best combination one could ask for).

My supportive and loving family and friends.

My fellow survivors/thrivers, those currently battling any cancer and those who have lost their battle.

As I said years I go, I learned so much through my experience.

There is a “me” pre-cancer, and a “me” post-cancer.  The post-cancer “me” is stronger in some ways, but I continue to grow in the journey of life.

We are stronger than we think.  We can do hard things.

Our faith and those who love us walk us through the joys and difficulties of this life.

Tomorrow is not promised in this world, so every day should be treasured.

Support, resources and great medical care is so important.  I’m thankful I had these but am aware some do not.

Research is the reason we’ve come so far, but we can do more.

I am “one of 8 women” diagnosed with breast cancer.  Your support means so much and can save lives — potentially your life, the life of your mother, wife, daughter, sister, father, husband, son, brother or another loved one.

Thank you all so very much. Be well!

I'm supporting the American Cancer Society and you can, too!

Welcome to our Team Page. We've formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.

There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.

How We Support the American Cancer Society

Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
