Why I Relay
Hello all! This is a long & lengthy explaination of why I Participate every year in fundraising for Relay for Life Leyden/Norwood Townships.
Hello all! Just a warning kind of a lenghty post.
It is the start of my Relay for Life Leyden/Norwood Townships fundraising campaign! This year I am walking on behalf of my cousin's Sharon & Jim Schroeder who as a couple, parents & grandparents are both battling Lung Cancer, Sharon was diagnosed in September 2017, as Sharon was going in to remission in Summer of 2018 Jim was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Yes you can't make this stuff up!
Also after 6 weeks of chemo and 6 weeks of radiation 5 times a week Jim is now able to start immunotherapy.
I am also walking on behalf of my cousin Rosemary Cushing Lick 2 sons Michael who was diagnosed at the age of 5 with as brain to spine cancer & now 30 years later it has turned its ugly head and returned and is now going to be 35 (my birthday buddy) & his brother Matthew Lick also diagnosed @ 26 with a brain tumor, Matthew went thru Chemo & radiation & a year later the tumor returned & he has done proton treatment and is remission @ 30. Only to find out earlier today at 32, cancer has once again reappeared! Once again you can't make this stuff up!
Won't you please support me with a donation or even join my team Struttin' for Sharon and Jim! @ this link attached to this post. Maybe I should change the name of our team to You can't make this stuff up!! Thank you for reading this & your support!
Cancer has affected so many people I know and love that it’s inspired me to join Relay For Life. This fundraiser is a community-based event, which means no two Relays are the same, but they all support the American Cancer Society’s mission.
Funds raised support cancer patient programs and groundbreaking research that can help save lives. This event also celebrates over 15.5 million cancer survivors nationwide. 15.5 MILLION. That’s huge. That’s why I’d love your support. Will you walk with me? And if you can’t would you be so kind as to make a donation?
