Why I’m Participating in a Relay For Life Event
I am a cancer survivor myself! I am hoping to help raise awareness and fight against this horrible disease. Cancer affects everyone some how or another! I found out March 1, 2013 that I had stage 3/4 ovarian cancer and I would have to have a complete hysterectomy. My son at the time was only 2 yrs old. I had to fight for not only myself but him as well. He need his momma, as much as I needed him. God placed him in my body to let it be known I had been carrying this horrible disease for 18yrs and not one detection of what was happening in my body. My son, Jesus, and my family got me through my tough times! Help me, raise awareness! #cancersucks!
I know there are a lot of worthy causes to support, but I think participating in an event that helps save lives from cancer is about as worthy as it gets. That’s why I decided to raise funds and walk in an American Cancer Society Relay For Life event.
Nearly everyone has been touched by cancer, either through their own personal battle or through the battle of someone they love, and this disease has taken too much from too many. I’m participating in the Relay For Life event because I know I am making a difference in the fight to end cancer by raising funds and cancer awareness.
A Relay For Life event is not only a way to join my community to fight back against cancer, but it is also a way to inspire hope by raising funds and cancer awareness to help those facing a diagnosis.
Why I’m Fundraising
By raising funds and walking in a Relay For Life event, I am participating in the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission, and I would really appreciate your support! The funds I raise helps fund important cancer research, supports cancer patient programs and services, and goes toward other important activities that help save lives from cancer.
Why I Volunteer with the American Cancer Society
By walking in a Relay For Life event I join more than four million global volunteers who are dedicated to finishing the fight against cancer. This is my opportunity to honor the cancer survivors in my life, remember friends and family I have lost, and to raise funds to support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission.
Please join my team or make a donation in support of my efforts. Thank you!
Together, we WILL finish the fight!
