Why I Relay

Why I Participate in Relay For Life

I've been walking with the KPMG Hope Blooms team for the past 13 years. I know people who have survived and lost their battle from this deadly disease. I participate in Relay for Life to give back and show my support to those who have been impacted. I also enjoy being part of the KPMG family when we walk together on the track. I can only hope that all the monies raised from events like this would one day result in finding a cure.

Who I'm Participating For

This year I will be walking in support of my friends Michael and Elisa. Both on their own separate journey to recovery, they are inspirations of HOPE and reminders to never give up. I will continue to do my part by supporting them (albeit virtually right now) and the many others who have been diagnosed with cancer, and to remind them that they are not alone in thh fight.

At this year’s event, I will not only be remembering those whom I've lost: Marty Finegan, Jenn Oakes, Will Weir, my grandfather and my uncle Ken, but I'll also be walking in loving support of those who I know thave survived this horrible disease: my Aunt Pat, my cousin Jeff and friends: Kathy, Al, Fiona, Elaine, Marcie, Bette and Holly.

 

Why I Support the American Cancer Society

Every day, the American Cancer Society helps people take steps to reduce their risk of cancer or find it early when it is easiest to treat. They provide free information and services when and where people need it throughout their journey to get well. They are investing in groundbreaking research to find, prevent, treat, and cure cancer, and are working with lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and rally communities worldwide to join the fight.

Please join us on May 30 at the Pascack Valley High School (200 Piermont Avenue, Hillsdale, NJ) and walk with the 'KPMG Hope Blooms' team or make a donation to show your support. All are welcome. Life is so much sweeter with friends at your side.

Together, we have the power to help create a world where cancer can no longer claim another year of anyone's life.
