Why I’m Participating in a Relay For Life Event
I have so many reasons, one is the lady in the purple shirt, my mom, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2002. She underwent a partical masceptomy and has been cancer free for 19 years. Another reason is the young lady to the far right. That is my daughter, Sarah. I've always strived to make the world a safe place for her and I hope by raising money for research that she may never have to experience cancer. I also have 2 other reasons, those two little angels here, they are my granddaughters. May they also never have to worry about getting cancer.
The battle is real and we fight it everyday. I lost a very beautifulfriend, Melissa Billetter-Kohlmeyer to pancretic cancer. She was full of life and hope up to the very end and I miss her daily. I've had family, classmates and friends battle with the big C and that is why I raise money to help with research. In September of 2018 my graduating class lost a dear sweet class member. Your donation not only helps with reserach it also helps patients get to their treatments through a program called Road to Recovery.
But all in all I think participating in an event that helps save lives from cancer is about as worthy as it gets. That’s why I decided to raise funds and walk for the 19th year in an American Cancer Society Relay For Life event.
Nearly everyone has been touched by cancer, either through their own personal battle or through the battle of someone they love, and this disease has taken too much from too many. I’m participating in the Relay For Life event because I know I am making a difference in the fight to end cancer by raising funds and cancer awareness.
A Relay For Life event is not only a way to join my community to fight back against cancer, but it is also a way to inspire hope by raising funds and cancer awareness to help those facing a diagnosis.
Why I’m Fundraising
By raising funds and walking in a Relay For Life event, I am participating in the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission, and I would really appreciate your support! The funds I raise helps fund important cancer research, supports cancer patient programs and services, and goes toward other important activities that help save lives from cancer.
Why I Volunteer with the American Cancer Society
By walking in a Relay For Life event I join more than four million global volunteers who are dedicated to finishing the fight against cancer. This is my opportunity to honor the cancer survivors in my life, remember friends and family I have lost, and to raise funds to support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission.
Please join my team or make a donation in support of my efforts. Thank you!
Together, we WILL finish the fight!
