Why I Relay Cancer affects all of us. It doesn’t care what school we go to, how old we are, or where we’re from. We've made a lot of progress but there’s still work to be done. We lost our amazing warrior to this dreaded disease in August of 2018. Emily developed secondary AML from her treatments for her Synovial Sarcoma. There has not been any new medicine to treat this in kids for years, leaving them at risk for future cancers or other health issues. Emily’s heart was also weakened from her chemo. Emily’s dream in life was to be a pediatric oncology nurse and help kids. This is why we relay! Kids deserve so much more than the funding they are receiving. We are proud to be a #Goldtogether team. 100% of our money will go to helping kids and keeping Emily’s dream alive.
