My aunt, grandfather, grandmother and other family members that I never had the chance to meet all were taken too soon from this life. My auntie is also lucky enough to have survived having cancer three times. Cancer not only ravaged their lives, but also the lives of their caretakers and loved ones. Watching someone be attacked from the inside by something you can’t see and decline rapidly is heartbreaking. No one deserves to suffer from having cancer or from losing a loved one to cancer. I can’t imagine a life where my aunt could see me grow up into a young woman or where my grandpa could see that I have the same chin dimple as him. Sadly, I couldn’t meet him before he passed, and my aunt never saw her own children have their own children. Cancer affects people in more ways than biologically, and ACS provides funds to help make the burden a little bit less. They also help sustain clinical research efforts so that hopefully one day no one needs to experience what many of us have had to experience. Every dollar counts, and I thank you for anything you can give to contribute to this cause.
