Why I'm Participating My mission is to help irracate cancer and end the pain and sickness that this horrible disease causes. Too many wonderful people and families have been touched recently, and for those families, my heart breaks. Please help me raise funds for the American Cancer Society and let's help save mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Why I'm Participating
When I was 13, I lost my mother to the vicious cancer and spread throughout her body like a raging wildfire. The cancer destroyed her body day by day stealing her ability to walk, her ability to complete basic tasks and her desire to eat. She was weak and tired from treatments and fighting the disease that had been breaking her body down for over five years. She fought so hard because she did not want to leave her children without a mom, but eventually the cancer won. Because of cancer, she would never again be able to hold my hand, give me a hug, encourage me through disappointments or celebrate my successes. Through Relay, I have an opportunity to honor my mother by fighting back.
