Why I Participate in a Relay For Life Event I have participated in the Cobb County Relay for 13 years now. I originally participated because my mom had Cancer and we were going through the fight together. We lost her in 2004 so now I Relay to ensure that in the not so distant future no other daughter will lose her mom prematurely. I also Relay for the all the friends, family and coworkers that have lost the fight. Most importantly I Relay for the survivors whose perserverance and fortitude inspire all of us to fight harder. Each year we lose another good person to cancer and our job to ensure the next generation does not have to endure these losses. Last year another of my long term co-workers lost his battle with cancer. Fred you will be missed and you fought courageously. We will continue the fight until this disease has been eradicated.

Why I’m Fundraising
Relay participants, including me, all raise funds because we’ve been affected by cancer in some way and because a Relay For Life event gives us the power to fight back.
Why I Support the American Cancer Society
Every day, the American Cancer Society helps people take steps to reduce their risk of cancer or find it early, when it is easiest to treat. They provide free information and services to cancer patients throughout their journey. The organization is investing in crucial research to prevent, treat, and ultimately, cure all cancers.
I have signed up to fundraise and walk in my local Relay For Life event. I hope you will consider joining my team or making a donation in support of my efforts.
