I Relay for my mom, who was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer when I was 17. I Relay for every second of those following years that I witnessed her fight her ass off through surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. I Relay for every patient I’ve ever met who has had their life changed or cut tragically short by this disease. I Relay for my aunt, my grandmother and grandfathers, great-aunt, friends, and other loved ones that have had their lives touched by cancer. Donating to my page can help provide patients with a place to stay during treatment away from home, rides to appointments, and warm meals, as well as fund cancer research, early detection programs, and treatment options. Purchasing a Luminaria bag helps to honor a loved one's memory, or to show support to someone who is going through or went through treatment. The Luminaria ceremony at Relay for Life is a time to remember those that we've lost, and support those who are still fighting. |
