Team Mommy
Samantha Nguyen was an amazing mother, wife, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend to anyone that knew her. She fought bravely for nearly 7 years, then was taken from us December 29, 2009. Although only three of us are her kids, she was "Mommy" to everyone. We can't put into words how much we lost, but we can relay to fight back, in her memory, against such a cruel and relentless disease. Loving and strong, her younger sister, Khanh Nguyen, was the other “Mommy” of our family. She was always caring and generous, and her husband, children, and grandkids were her everything. On March 20, 2018, after a fierce and hard fought yearlong battle with kidney cancer, we were all faced with and are still reeling from the heartbreaking loss of our other “Mommy”. We relay in memory of our mothers, but also in memory of others we’ve loved and lost to cancer, as well as in support of survivors, those who are currently fighting their own battle, and the family and friends who support them. We are making a difference by participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Saving lives from cancer starts one team, one participant, and one dollar at a time. At the event, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

By donating to our team, you will be a part of a life-changing event that gives everyone in the community a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much. The impact we can make together is much greater than what any of us could do alone!
Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
Since 1991 we have invested $3.43 billion in cancer research.
We have received over 360,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2023.
Cancer patients benefited from the ACS transportation support through our Road To Recovery program and transportation grants in 2023, with nearly 769,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
