Greater Golden Triangle Relay for Life and American Cancer Society of Southeast Texas is proud to announce two long-time Relayers and friends, as the Co-Chairs of the 2025 Relay for Life event to be held at Ford Park on May 2, 2025.
They have many things in common including their faith, work ethic and family first, but they also share and celebrate each other as Cancer Survivors. These two feisty friends were months apart in breast cancer diagnosis and their treatment ran simultaneously. Regina joined the annual Relay for Life events in 1996 followed by Susan in 2008, years before their diagnosis. In their own words:
I first participated in Relay in 1996 to help others and to help friends and family that were dealing with cancer as a community outreach at my pre-school. After my diagnosis it took a different turn for me, I want to give back and help heal everybody from this horrible disease. Regina returns year after year because it is her opportunity to give back and it never goes away, said Regina.
My mom and grandparents passed away in 2006 of cancer, in 2008, we were at church, and I heard them say we were doing Relay this weekend. It touched me and I said I absolutely want to do this this year. I do not want anyone else to have to lose family members like I did, added Susan.
More than just a fundraising walk, these two have been at the top in the fundraising categories of Relay and enjoy competition and their creativity is evident in photos.
CONGRATULATIONS REGINA AND SUSAN!

Every Dollar Makes a Difference
At Relay For Life events, no one faces cancer alone. We come together every year at events around the country to support and celebrate survivors and caregivers.
Each Relay has special events and activities (many throughout the year) just for survivors and their caregivers, so they can connect with others and know there is a strong support system available to them.

This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
This tool allows event managers to edit sections of the event website. Here’s how:
It’s that easy! Throughout the year, we’ll unlock more sections and add features to this tool in order to improve your ability to manage your event website.
