I Relay because I want to see an end to cancer during my lifetime. I have watched friends and family battle this disease. Some have won and some have lost...some of the BRAVEST people I know. It is a hard thing to watch someone you love go through. It is a hard thing to watch a stranger go through. My best friend, Lizzy, passed from Brain Cancer 6 months after her daughter was born. Her husband, Donteà, passed from Lung Cancer 15 years ago...just 13 days after their daughter's 19th birthday. Their daughter Jasmine and her husband have a ten year old son that spent the first 10 months of his life battling Leukemia...and has battled twice since then. My mom is a Skin Cancer survivor. Three cousins...Christy (Lung Cancer)...we lost in 2016, Madison (Ovarian Cancer)...a survivor...and Ruby (Thyroid Cancer)...also a survivor...An uncle that passed from Lung Cancer...Friends...Lynn (Cervical Cancer), Savannah (Breast Cancer)...both survivors...and Denny who passed away from Throat Cancer. My boyfriend's mother was a 2 time Breast Cancer survivor...unfortunately we lost her 13 years ago...and the list goes on. When we find a cure, no one else will have to battle this disease or watch a loved one battle it. It will be an amazing thing!!! Please join the fight to find a cure...
Your efforts will help the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer information, advocate for all people to have access to screening and treatment, and offer free programs and services to improve the quality of life for people facing cancer. By being a part of Relay, we are joining a worldwide movement to help defeat cancer for future generations.
For Lizzy, Donteà, Nikolaus, Miranda, Savannah, Lynn, Denny, Sue, Mom, Zena, Christy, Madison, Ruby, Louie, Karen, Angela, Charlotte, Jade, Levi, Chris, Taylor, Shelley, Charlie, Jan, Sandy...some still here...some passed on. I love you all! And for all of the survivors I Relay with...stay strong! I'm fighting with you for a world with more birthdays...RELAY FOR A CURE!!

Your support allows the American Cancer Society to continue:
Fighting cancer in city halls, statehouses, and Congress by elevating the patient voice to advance policy change through the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN)
Ensuring no one feels alone at any point on their cancer journey, from prevention to survivorship, and, for some, the end of life.
Investing in breakthrough science to find more - and better - treatments, uncover factors that may cause cancer, and improve patients' quality of life.
Ensuring that all people have a fair and just opportunity to prevent, find, treat, and survive cancer. ACS and ACS CAN believe all people should have a fair and just opportunity to live a longer, healthier life free from cancer regardless of how much money they make, the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, gender identity, their disability status, or where they live.
Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
