Hernandez Hope
Welcome to the family! Since 2011 we have been apart of the Relay for Life of Montgomery County. We do this as a family, as one for the cause, to one day be gone with this disease and find a cure! In 2012 we lost one of our family members, Herminio Hernandez. Cancer was never anything heard of in our family prior to my uncle being diagnosed. He was one of the toughest and strongest men I ever knew and just remembering seeing him fight thruall of the treatment and hospital stays HE NEVER GAVE UP! and that's really why year after year I try to bring everyone together as a family as one to do this in his honor. Our team name has a huge significance to us.Hernandez being our family name and Hope because when you are living through the fear of losing someone to cancer you can NEVER lose or give up Hope. As of recent, another one of our family members has entered the survivors club! My aunt Erika was diagnosed with breast cancer and we are so happy to announce that she is cancer free and can now share her story and journey of how it has impacted her life! -Alexa Aguilar Hernandez Hope Team Captain Please join our team or make a donation. Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
Since 1991 we have invested $3.43 billion in cancer research.
We have received over 360,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2023.
Cancer patients benefited from the ACS transportation support through our Road To Recovery program and transportation grants in 2023, with nearly 769,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
