Gretchen's Gazelles IFS
Even though we all have our own reason for joining Relay For Life, we'll take down cancer because we're in it together. Our team of Delta customers is fundraising for the American Cancer Society's support service and lifesaving research. Believe us, every dollar really does count, so we're asking for your help. Please donate or join our team today, because together we can end cancer. Our story: Gretchen, the daughter of Delta Flight Attendant Jane Mitchell-Reimers, was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2014. She bravely fought this terrible disease with the support of her husband, two daughters, Sophia and Mylee, and many family members and friends. Sadly, despite her courageous battle, Gretchen passed away in 2015.
Jane promised to honor Gretchen’s memory and continue her inspirational journey. In a show of solidarity, a dedicated group of Delta employees, customers, and friends came together and rallied to expand Gretchen’s Gazelles to include funding for cancer research grants at both Sloan Kettering and UAB Cancer Centers, as well as supporting the needs of cancer patients through the American Cancer Society (ACS) Hope Lodge. Over the last ten years, Gretchen’s Gazelles fundraising efforts have grown to raise over $1.3M for on-going ACS programs. Please join us in truly making a difference in the fight against cancer by donating to our cause. We are grateful for your support! *** All funds raised by the Gretchen’s Gazelles are directed to support the 2024 American Cancer Society Hope Ball presented by Delta Air Lines in September of 2024.***
