In 2018, the Pink Posse walked our first walk as a team of four while I was going thru radiation therapy. My men accompanied me to my surgery decked out in pink and since were dubbed the “Pink Posse”. Since 2022, we have grown the team and I am proud to say that last year our team raised the most money in NH, over $16,000! And we expect to grow that number this year on October 27th when we take to the streets in Concord, NH. So, if you’re keeping up with the math, this year marks my 6-year cancer free anniversary! And thanks to the advances made by the American Cancer Society, my cancer was detected early by a mammogram. No self-exam would have found it as it was along my chest wall. Your donations not only fund research for advances in detection and treatment but also allows the ACS to be there for those battling breast cancer in every way imaginable, with a hotline, web resources and rides to treatment just to name a few. What a cancer diagnosis doesn’t prepare you for is how many amazing people you will meet on your journey. From healthcare providers, to fellow survivors to those who are profoundly passionate about making a difference in the war on cancer. So many incredible people! It also doesn’t prepare you for the strength surviving cancer gives you to handle any of the other curveball’s life may throw at you. I hope you will consider donating to this worthy cause. No amount is too small. I thank you in advance for your continued support and ask that you remind all the special women in your lives to perform self-checks ad get their annual mammograms.
