Hopeful Hearts
Making the decision to join the Making Strides of Eastern Long Island committee was a very easy one. I knew I wanted be a part of a great cause and to find a way to do my part in contributing to lifesaving research. My dear cousin Melissa is a breast cancer survivor and it means so much to me to be able to walk in honor of her and my family's gratitude for Melissa's health. No woman should have to hear the words "You have breast cancer." My hopes in participating in the Grangabel Park walk and the Jones Beach walk this fall are that together we can raise the funds to make the greatest strides against cancer. If you are asking yourself why you should donate and what it goes to, I'll tell you! A $10 donation helps provide free cancer education to those who need guidance. A $40 donation can help someone who needs to connect with a Cancer Information Specialist. A $50 donation can help provide 1 free ride to treatment or an appointment, making the difference in treatment progress. A $65 donation can help rpovide 1 free night of lodging during treatment away from home. A $100 donation can help 3 people find invaluable information for free and much needed emotional support. Even though we all have our own reasons for joining Making Strides, we'll take down breast cancer because we're in it together. Our team is fundraising for the American Cancer Society's support services and lifesaving research. Believe us, every dollar really does count, so we're asking for your help. Please donate or join our team today, because together we can end breast cancer. If there is someone you know and love that you would like for me to have on my heart when I walk on September 30 and October 15, please let me know because I would love to do so.
xoxo Jillian
