Members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and its auxiliaries are consistently at the forefront of issues that affect everyone, particularly when it comes to our health. Many of our own in the Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach communities Omicron Delta Zeta Chapter serves, including Sorors Jennifer Meadows Hill, Tammy McDonald, and others, are survicors. Communities of color have continually been shown to have a disproportionate status when it comes to health, especially as it relates cancer. This is true due to a variety of reasons, including a lack of access to care, resources, and testing. Through our committed partnership with the American Cancer Society, it is Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.’s vision to enhance the awareness, promote health equity, discourage disparity, and find ways to provide the resources and tools to support our communities. It is our utmost concern to shine light on the cultural, ideological, educational, physical, and socio-economic disparities that prevent our communities from having health equity. It also our mission to identify those causes to even the playing field and have our communities feeling as motivated and empowered to make their health a priority even when others do not. Our Sorority commits to several areas of focus with the American Cancer Society, including: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Relay for Life Hope Lodge Real Men Wear Pink Holding Cancer Related Workshops and Community Events Co-Branding and Awareness to Triple Negative Breast Cancer Throughout our partnership, we have dedicated ourselves to raising awareness and fundraising for those causes that impact not only our communities, but our everyday lives. Among us, there are cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and those that have a passion for stopping cancer in its track. We proudly raise funds and support the American Cancer Society in in its efforts to lead the fight for a world without cancer. Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
As of January 2022, we have invested $71 M for potentially lifesaving breast cancer specific research grants.
We have received over 250,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2021
Cancer patients benefited from ACS transportation support through our Road TO Recovery program and transportation grants in 2021, with nearly 229,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against breast cancer.

Welcome to our Team Page. We've formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.
There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.
How We Support the American Cancer Society
Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
