Happy Fall to All and hoping everyone is well!

October is just around the corner!  Orange pumpkins, orange leaves…and time to break out the Pink for our annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Pt. Pleasant, NJ, on October 20th.

This event is special to my heart as it has funded studies and discoveries of medicines and treatments that were not here for my mother, Anita Del Duca.  From the ages of 49 through 63 she fought year after year, treatment after treatment.  As it spread it could not take away her fight or determination.  I read in her journal “Nobody can feel good all the time but you can still find some joy in every day.  Some of us don’t know how to be happy, but I am going to try very hard because I have a wonderful family”….that sums up my mom’s attitude. 

Results of the many American Cancer Society funded research programs that continue to lead to new advances in detection, medicines, and treatments were there for me and so many women I know and love in our battles.

So my friends, I walk again to honor and fund all the advancements that are needed to continue the fight against this dreaded disease!

Also, big news about The Plastic Surgery Center, my doctors since 2009 and my team since 2013….they have expanded to “The Breast Center of New Jersey” under the umbrella of ARSA where Dr. Elkwood is opening surgery centers country wide.  Ironically enough, Angelina now works on their Marketing Team.  Who knew when she came to my appointments as a young girl that she would be learning and helping so many women with breast cancer!  Her grandma would be so proud, I know I am!

Welcome to our Team Page. We've formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.

There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.

How We Support the American Cancer Society

Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
