In May of 2024 , Oma (or Jeanette or Mom or Aunt) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Thanks to all of the great research done by the American Cancer Society (ACS), her team of doctors was able to put together what is a very intense, but hopefully effective treatment plan for her. This treatment plan will allow her to attend more sporting events for her grandkids, go on more camping trips with Bam and see more grandbabies (and maybe even great grandbabies) be born. This is what we want for anyone that is diagnosed with Breast Cancer, but that's only possible with research done by groups like ACS. Participating in this event for our family feels very full circle. Kylie and Ben moved to Richmond 21 years ago for Kylie to work at ACS, Making Strides was one of the first events she worked on. For a couple years we also had a team in honor of Grandma Dot, who was a 35 year Breast Cancer survivor, which again, would not have been possible without the type of research done by ACS. We invite you to donate, join our team or BOTH! Team Oma Strong is open to any of our family and friends who want to support Oma and Breast Cancer Research.
