A cornerstone of the Battery’s fundraising initiatives this season is the Courage Kit, a pink goalkeeper jersey that will be worn in matches and sold in the team shop, with proceeds from each shirt sold directly benefiting the Men Wear Pink campaign. This pink kit features an abstract pattern and a ginkgo leaf that symbolizes resilience and hope.
The Courage Kit will debut at the Battery’s August 24 home match and will be worn by the goalkeepers throughout the rest of the season. The kits are available for purchase online now and at the stadium on matchdays, while supplies last.
An additional player-worn warm-up jersey auction will join the Battery’s fundraising initiatives, benefiting the Men Wear Pink campaign. These pink-and-black jerseys will feature at the Battery’s Breast Cancer Awareness Night match on October 5. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match to show their support for breast cancer patients and survivors.
Breast cancer survivors as well as their caregivers and families are invited to participate in a breast cancer survivor player tunnel at the October 5 match. This will take place before kickoff on the field and provide an opportunity for participants to welcome the players to the pitch. To participate in the breast cancer survivor player tunnel, please sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfoQmNQ1X2u579l9y7EptzUVK8pzEXLdkVcoBUjjATfApecGw/viewform?usp=sf_link
The Battery will also unveil a special-edition pink scarf ahead of the October 5 match that fans will be able to purchase online and at the game. Proceeds from the scarf and Courage Kit will be donated to the Men Wear Pink campaign.
Your support allows the American Cancer Society to continue:
Advocacy
Fighting breast cancer in city halls, statehouses, and Congress by elevating the patient voice to advance policy change through the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN)
Patient Support
Ensuring no one feels alone at any point on their breast cancer journey, from prevention to survivorship, and, for some, the end of life.
Discovery
Investing in breakthrough science to find more - and better - treatments, uncover factors that may cause breast cancer, and improve patients' quality of life.
Health Equity
Ensuring that all people have a fair and just opportunity to prevent, find, treat, and survive breast cancer. ACS and ACS CAN believe all people should have a fair and just opportunity to live a longer, healthier life free from cancer regardless of how much money they make, the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, gender identity, their disability status, or where they live.
