Why I accepted the nomination to be a Spotlight Honoree:
I accepted the nomination to be a spotlight honoree with deep personal resonance. Witnessing my father's battle with cancer and enduring the loss of my grandfather to the same disease, I recognize the imperative for continued advocacy and support in the fight against cancer. As a registered dietitian, my professional journey has equipped me with a profound understanding of the intricate relationship between our social determinants of health and cancer risk. This awareness fuels my commitment to raising awareness and fostering initiatives that address these disparities. Accepting this nomination is not just a professional endeavor but a personal dedication to honoring the memory of loved ones and championing progress in cancer prevention and treatment.
