Garden Gremlins
The Story of a Garden Gremlin So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessings at the appropriate time. Galatians 6:9
Carl Hubbard was a quiet, unassuming man of God who blessed everyone he touched whether it be for a moment or a lifetime. Carl defeated prostate cancer in 1993, but it came back and facilitated his journey home to the Lord on January 26th, 2004.

He was given the nickname “Garden Gremlin” by the staff at the Montesano Church of God where he was a member for his faithful tending of the church’s lawn and garden up until he no longer had the strength. His habit was to work when nobody was around, thus making it appear that gremlins were afoot and responsible.
In his memory and honor, his granddaughter Lisa formed the Garden Gremlin team to walk in the Relay for Life 24 hour cancer walk.
Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
Since 1991 we have invested $3.43 billion in cancer research.
We have received over 360,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2023.
Cancer patients benefited from the ACS transportation support through our Road To Recovery program and transportation grants in 2023, with nearly 769,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
