My name is Kevin Begola, I am 39 years old from Linden. I have a wife and 3 kids (Ava-13, Thomas 8 and Bennett 3). We also have a Bulldog named Norman.
I graduated from CMU in 2002 (English major w/ business minor). In my free time I enjoy watching sports, hanging out with family/friends and cruising in my 1969 Lincoln Continental. Work has always been my hobby and I have a passion for growing my businesses and the excitement people get when they come into the store.
I was originally in the insurance industry and wanted to start up my own business and at the age of 23 I started selling rings online. I own and operate a men’s wedding ring website called Titanium-Buzz.com which also lead me to open up a brick and mortar store here locally called Bridge Street Exchange. I am an owner operator and work with people all over the world on custom made to order wedding bands. I have owned the brick and mortar store here in Fenton (previously Linden) for approximately 5 years now and we specialize in men’s clothing, gift items, grooming supplies and footwear. My focus is on day to day management of employees as well as marketing efforts for both companies. I have had the pleasure of selling over 25,000 wedding rings around the world to happy couples getting married! It doesn’t get much better than that within business.
Why I Wear Pink
At a young age I lost my godmother (Barb Jackson) and it stuck with me to this day.. Her life was cut short from Breast Cancer and it impacted me personally. At a young age I had to wrap my mind around something that could be so devastating to a close family of ours. I am also raising awareness in honor of my wife’s step mother (Karen) and grandmother who both were breast cancer survivors. After meeting my wife and learning of the fight Karen took on she had to balance work, family and her health and it is a tremendous amount of stress and emotional pressure. People do not understand the impact it has on someone until it hits so close to home.
What are you most excited about being involved in the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign?
I am excited to help spread the word on breast cancer within females and males. Our shop has been dedicated to providing guys with a cool and inviting space to shop, and I think we can also help to educate and give them some insight on what does affect men since it isn’t talked about as much. I love to give back within the community and feel that I can help bring more attention to what is happening here locally.
