The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a celebration of courage and hope, a movement uniting communities to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone.
What can you expect when you join Making Strides? From the day you sign up through October , you’ll be fueling the fight against breast cancer by fundraising.
Whether you're on a team, leading a team, or even participating solo, get friends and family to join you - more people means more power to end breast cancer.
Send emails and texts. Set up a Facebook fundraiser. There are lots of ways to raise money for Making Strides. We’ll even give you tips and tools to make it easier.
The Making Strides movement raises lifesaving funds that support breast cancer patients, survivors, thrivers, and caregivers through every step of the journey. We’ve enhanced digital offerings available to anyone across the nation, including one-on-one breast cancer patient support services and the use of video chat to safely connect patients, caregivers, and family members with valuable services and resources through our website, in addition to a 24/7 helpline.

“The money we raise goes to fund Reach to Recovery, Road to Recovery, the Hope Lodge, the 1-800 number, and research. It's one thing to raise money for something you know about. It's a whole other thing to be a cancer survivor benefiting from the money that you have been raising for years.”

“Making Strides gave me all the reasons to want to be a survivor, to fight and help others, to let them know there is a brighter day and you're going to make it through it.”
Deborah
Breast Cancer Survivor
“I got involved with the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast cancer because I wanted to pay it forward, because I was a direct beneficiary of the research funded by the American Cancer Society that treated my HER2-positive breast cancer.”
Susie
Breast Cancer Survivor
“If you're coming to Strides as a survivor or a newly-diagnosed patient, you walk in and you see everyone in every stage. You see people 30 years out, you see people 30 weeks out. You see part of you and it's so valuable to have a connection with someone that has been through what you've been through.”
