Why We Joined Relay
Exercise is critical for improving one’s overall health. It is the key to cardiovascular wellness, respiratory productivity and improving your mood. Many people don’t enjoy adding exercise to their daily life and yet, it’s been proven to both prevent and fight disease. Walking alone has been proven to help reduce the risk of certain cancers. And cancer is the 2 nd leading cause of death in the U.S.
A Promise to Walk is a campaign that will help promote one of the most complementary exercises with the least side effects walking. During this campaign period, we’re not only promising to increase our daily walk activity, but we’re promising to be more pro-active about our own health by scheduling regular health visits, and becoming health advocates in our communities by engaging in the discussions that people need to have, to so that preventative care and cure through early detection is the key to saving lives.
There are four ways you can participate in this campaign. Please feel free to participate in as many or as few of the following as you’d like:
Go to RelayForLife.org/apromisetowalk to register your team or to register as an individual on a team, and begin raising money in the fight against cancer. Begin raising money today by talking to relatives and friends and asking for their support.

During Campaign period (March 1, 2020 - April 5, 2020):
* Track your step activity during the four-week campaign period with an intent to increase the number of steps each week.
* Coordinate and host a mini walk event or community health event during the campaign period.
April 25, 2020: Time and Place to be determined:
* Attend the Recognition Event that will bring us together as a community to not only celebrate our wins during the campaign, but will allow us the opportunity to support one another and honor our survivors.

Why We Relay
Why We Joined Relay
Why We Joined Relay
We chose Relay For Life because it’s important to our employees to make a positive difference in this world. And as a company, we know we can make a bigger difference when we combine forces. The money we’ll raise helps The American Cancer Society give patients what they need the most-hope, support, and lifesaving research.
We7rsquo;re forming a team and we want you to join us for a day that honors those we’ve lost to cancer and celebrates survivors and caregivers. The American Cancer Society depends on us to raise the money they need to impact those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
You can start your own team or join an existing team. You can also make a donation at any time, so let’s get out there, have some fun and raise some funds.
Would you like to lead the team or join the team?
This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
