Why I Wear Pink

Patrick, an Alabama native and a Mississippi State graduate, started his journey as an on-air meteorologist while he was still attending State right here in Jackson, while also doing weekend weather at the ABC affiliate in Greenville, MS. Since graduating from MSU in 2012, he's gone on to work in Greenville and Wilmington, North Carolina before returning to Jackson in late 2016 to join the weather team at WLBT and FOX 40. Patrick is a firm believer in 'never stop learning' approach to life; so each day, each forecast (good or bad) is a learning opportunity to grow upon. In his spare time Patrick is an avid and long-suffering Mississippi State Bulldog and New Orleans Saints fan and enjoys traveling and being surrounded by friends and family.

He has had several extended family members and family friends be diagnosed with breast cancer. Patrick has had more personal impacts from other types of cancer, such as his father, who lost his courageous fight against lung cancer in March 2016. "The emotional toll that cancer, of any type, takes on a family is hard - it tests everyone's strength and ability to get through the hardest and worst of times, for better or worse," explains Patrick.

Patrick is excited about being a part of a great organization to help with awareness.  He shares, "This isn't just woman's disease, but men can also be diagnosed as well. This year, especially with COVID-19 being in the forefront, it is more important than ever before to spread awareness and fundraise and I'm excited be able to use my platform to be able to do that."

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.

Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
