I have supported Relay For Life for over 20 years because I am passionate and determined to see an end to cancer during my lifetime!! I am even more determined than ever to see an end to cancer after my best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. I am so tired of this disease that can change your life in a moments notice! Although there has been great progress over the years we have got to keep fighting to end cancer!
I have so many reasons of why I support this event. I love to celebrate those who have beaten this disease and yet remember those who lost their battle. So many people have been touched by cancer in some way. Cancer knows no age, gender and it has no boundaries. Cancer divides….it seeks to separate us from our health, our loved ones and our dreams. The answer to something that divides is to unite!
Research relies on all of us! Scientist, patients, caregivers, donors, families, friends, communities…YOU! It is time we all find our passionate purpose. Until cancer no longer divides, we will unite!! The end of cancer begins with us…together!
I have too many people to list them all but some of the reasons I relay are listed below:
In HONOR of my dad, Ron Louviere & my other mom, Jeanene Louviere
In MEMORY of my step-dad/other dad, George Wright
In HONOR of my best friend, Angela Guidry
In MEMORY of my brother-in-law, David Lindgren
In MEMORY of my uncle, Warren Wright
In MEMORY of my daughter’s friend, Gracie Johnson “Grit And Gracie”
In MEMORY of my daughter, Sarah's papaw, James Cochran
In MEMORY of my Godfather, Darrell Derouen
In MEMORY of my aunt, Sue Derouen
In HONOR of my brother-in-law’s dad, Larry Lindgren
There are many other friends, co-workers and family members who have beaten or are battling this disease today. Please consider making a donation to help put an end to this disease….every little bit helps!! God bless
