Last year during my freshman spring semester I took the role of the Relay for Life team captain of my sorority. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but leading that team in the first Northeastern Relay for Life event since 2019 was by far what brought me out of my comfort zone here at school. I am proud to say that last year Chi Omega raised over $10,000 dollars total, had the highest earning on-site fundraiser (over 1,000 dollars selling Insomnia cookies), and was the 3rd highest fundraising team at the entire event.
I am now Vice President of my sorority and have given my role of the team captain to a first year, reminding me of the position I was in just last spring. I have hope that this year’s Relay for Life will be even better than last year’s and that it will continue to grow at Northeastern to how popular it was before COVID prevented it from happening.
Cancer has affected my personal life in more ways than one, and this year I am asking for donations from my friends and family to help combat this horrible disease. It would mean the world to me if you could help me fundraise for Northeastern’s Relay for Life event taking place from 6 pm to 6 am on March 24th-25th.
