Thank you for being my friend, for supporting me in the fight against cancer.
Each year, I raise money for the American Cancer Society. I fight in celebration of victories against this disease--Mom, Granny, Dad, Steve, and many other friends and family members.
Alog with the celebrations come losses. My friend and Reston Relay committee member, Jim Radmore. Other special friends and family like Grandfather, Nana, Paulette, Jen, Ellie, Denise, Susan, Donna, Kristine, Michele, Colleen, Tina... and more family members, friends, colleagues, and public figures who have touched my life.
Mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, friends... the one thing they should never have shared was cancer taking them from us far too soon.
As the daughter and granddaughter of cancer survivors and victims, I am passionately committed to helping find a cure for cancer, and working to make life better for cancer survivors and caregivers. I believe that the American Cancer Society makes a difference in the fight against cancer--through education, advocacy, and research efforts, as well as in supporting those diagnosed with cancer.
Because of that, I'm participating this year as a fundraiser, team member, team captain, and online chair for Relay For Life of Reston-Herndon. I am also the Communication and Online Strategy Lead for the Nationwide Relay Leadership Team. Cancer will not stop for the economy; it doesn't sleep, so neither can I. I need your help to make it stop.
I'm not asking for much--just a little bit--$5 or $10 from 100 different friends can go a very long way. I'm tired of losing loved ones to cancer and seeing friends lose loved ones to cancer. I'm tired of seeing family and friends go through this horrible disease.
I Relay because I believe The American Cancer Society will help us cross the finish line, and defeat cancer. Please make a donation to me or join my team.
You are helping deliver the hope that future generations will not have to endure cancer threatening the lives of their friends and family. You have the power to fight back against a disease that affects too many people.
