Walmart Walkers
Like everyone 2021 was a difficult year for us. We have added to our families both at work and at home, we have made new friends, and we have had to adapt to a new way of living. Some of us have heard for the first time over the last year “You have cancer”. Some of us have been lucky and have won the battle with cancer, some are in the fight, and we have lost some family and friends to cancer and other things.
We are in a new year with new hope and tons of possibilities. With Covid last year cancer funding was reduced by over 50%, this means programs for cancer patients had to be cancelled, and research is not being funded at the rate it was.
WE CAN AND WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER AS A TEAM>
I am asking you to join our fight against cancer. This year we will hold our local Relay for Life on Saturday September 4th from 5pm 11pm. We are doing things a little different this year and still working out details. I have set our goal for our team “Walmart Walkers” to raise $10,000 but we can do so much more and have in the past. We are going to start the auction @ 3pm, pause for the opening ceremony, survivor, and caregiver laps at 5pm, and will be having a luminaria ceremony @ 9pm.

Why We Relay
