Maren initially participated by joining other teams over the years.
During her own dealing with cancer she explained to her daughter that
the surgery she needed to have her thyroid removed - the butterfly
shaped organ in her throat. It was then that her daughter told her
mother that she would give it a kiss to make it all better after the
surgery. During the recovery effort Maren decided that there was no
better team name than just that .. Butterfly Kisses...

Cancer has touched many of us in some way so we decided to fight back
by raising funds and walking in our local American Cancer Society
Relay For Life event.

As a team we are taking action to help eliminate cancer as a major
health
problem. At our Relay event we will take turns walking around the
track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society
in their lifesaving mission.
