Cares About Moms
During my sophomore year of high school, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She left to get her first of ultimately five surgeries she would have on my 16th birthday. She made it back home from the hospital just in time to see me blow out the candles on my birthday cake. It took 18 months of heavy stem-cell and chemotherapy treatment, radiation, and surgery until my family got the call that she was cancer-free. My mom had three years of remission until the computer images started lighting up again. The cancer came back in December 2021, this time in her bones, this time Stage 4. Despite hours of needle-pricks and days of side-effects, she has never thought twice about getting up in the morning and taking care of our family. She has this mentality: mom first and cancer patient second. Despite what is attacking her from the inside, her family has been a motivator for her to keep fighting. That's why I am motivated to make a difference so that moms, like mine, and countless others shouldn't feel the need have cancer own their life. What is evil on the inside is not what is on the outside, so let's come together and protect our moms.

Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
Since 1991 we have invested $3.43 billion in cancer research.
We have received over 360,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2023.
Cancer patients benefited from the ACS transportation support through our Road To Recovery program and transportation grants in 2023, with nearly 769,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
