I’m writing everyone today about a personal health matter that has affected me. As some of you know I lost a dear close friend of mine in August 2022 from Breast Cancer. After losing her I decided that I needed to start working on my own health, which started with going to the doctor and taking tests. Pap smear, mammograms, blood work, stress tests, and a general physical to name just a few came next. Good thing I went because on December 20th I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Since then I've had two surgeries, underwent 3 weeks of daily radiation and now I’m on Anastrozole for the next 5 years but if all goes to plan I have a less than 1% chance of it returning in that area! I’m writing about my journey because I want others to know that early detection and testing made all the difference and it really does work! Please do not wait or put off these tests, it can literally be life or death. My cancer wasn’t large enough to feel so without doing that mammogram I wouldn’t have known about the tumor until it was potentially too late! Early detection really DOES work and on Sunday, October 1st I'm going to be walking to help raise money toward cancer research to help continue to work for a cure! Please consider joining my team, donating, or doing both to help find a cure!
