In the year and a half since I wrote my "why I support the American Cancer Society," 4 more of my loved ones have been diagnosed with cancer. One of them lost the fight. It seems every time I turn around someone I know is being diagnosed with cancer. Supporting the PA HOPE ride against cancer is my small attempt at trying not to feel so helpless against such a brutal disease. Research has improved protocols allowing for more targeted treatments and better outcomes. We have to keep working to find a universal cure. In additon to funding research, moneys raised by the HOPE Ride help fund HOPE Houes. HOPE Houses provide free lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers while they move forward with their treatments. It is one less worry for people who need & deserve every break they can get. In the past 10 years the HOPE Ride has raised over a $1,000,000! That is fantastic! The ride is a lot of like minded people joining together to try to make a difference. So, c'mon join us for a bike ride! And if you can't, would you be so kind as to make a donation? Together, we can make a difference.
