Tough and Physical Wow Experience

Enough from you, cancer. We're back to kick your ass again.

We're the Tough and Physical Wow Experience. 2023 is our 11th official year as a team (and 13th overall, kinda sorta unofficially) at the unmatched Michigan Softball Academy. We're out to smash cancer and do so with the style and spirit that's become associated with our team since we were paired with Mr. Brandon in 2013.

From day one, the #TPWE - once known as Team 6 - has supported the American Cancer Society in its fight, attempting to match their valiant efforts stride by stride. As we've grown from a small outfit way back then to the No. 2 fundraising team at the Academy in 2022, our passion for obliterating cancer has exploded. Sadly, we have lost people close to us and we fight for them every season.

Cancer is a fierce opponent, one even worse than UCF in Orlando or the Spartans in the Big Ten Tournament, although that wasn't a problem last year in East Lansing. Our team is committed to helping the American Cancer Society raise awareness about what we can do together to help strike out cancer before it ever has the chance to affect another precious life. No Wolverine, Spartan, Buckeye, Gopher, Seminole, Gator, Bruin, or human should have to suffer. (And whatever UCF's mascot is.)

Please join us in the fight. Consider joining or donating to the #TPWE and help us save more lives! If you can't do either, we get it. We'll just see you at Alumni Field on Thursday, April 27 and have the best cheering section at the Academy.

Go Blue, Go Pink, and win the Big Ten!

How Fundraising Impacts Your Community

Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.

As of January 2022, we have invested $400 M for potentially lifesaving cancer research grants.

We have received over 250,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2021

Cancer patients benefited from ACS transportation support through our Road TO Recovery program and transportation grants in 2021, with nearly 229,000 rides provided.

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.

Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
