Welcome to the Team George Team Page. George was a husband and father, a dear and caring friend, and an avid cyclist and jazz guitarist who made his living in IT.

 

We formed Team George when he was first diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, so that we could support George by riding with him when he felt strong enough. We continued Team George after he lost his battle to keep his spirit and memory alive. We ride as Team George because cancer has touched all of us in some way, and we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor George and the lives of all of those lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.  

 

The money our team raises helps the American Cancer Society in so many ways. It's helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It's providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives.
