Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

Haley Family

Welcome to our Team Page! We've formed this team because cancer has touched all of us in some way. Many of our close friends and family have struggled and survived; some are still fighting; our sweet neighbor just lost his battle.

Our friend and cancer survivor, Joel Neeb, recently published a book with a profound idea: that we all share a "survivor's obligation"...an obligation to live an intentional life. This is our family's way of being intentional.

We will be running a 10K (Mackenzie and Joshua's first) in support and in honor of those whose lives have been touched by cancer.  It's our way of trying to make a difference in this battle, encouraging our children to serve others, and utilizing the gift of good health in a meaningful way.

We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on 10 January 2020, we'll run to honor those lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and live out our obligation.  If cancer has affected anyone you know personally, we'd love to run for them specifically if you'd like to send their names along.

The money our team raises helps the American Cancer Society in so many ways. It helps fund innovative research. It provides free information for people dealing with the disease. It provides rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, any support we are able to raise saves lives.

Would you consider supporting our team and the American Cancer Society?  Our minimum team goal is $2250 and our fundraising cutoff is 16 December 2019.  If you would like to give, our team page is: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/haleyfamily

HOW FUNDRAISING IMPACTS YOUR COMMUNITY

Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.

Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
