Dave's Cancer Crusaders

Welcome to Denise & Matt’s  Team Page.

Cancer has affected so many people we know and love. Denise recently lost her Dad (Matt’s Father-in-law) to cancer, so we are on a journey to run 26.2 miles and raise money for the American Cancer Society in honor of Dave.

Here is our story....

Denise’s Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer 3 years ago. Through many treatments it finally went into remission. We were done dealing with it... or so we thought. A few months after, the blood-work kept coming back normal, but the scans weren’t. The doctors couldn’t figure it out. Fast forward a few more months, the doctors figured it out, he had developed another cancer. A rare, very aggressive cancer called small cell. He started receiving 3 times the amount of chemo that someone else would get. He went from being active and strong to not being able to sit up on his own, to being out of breath when he talks. It has taken a toll on the family, the people caring for him, but it was even worse for him. He had many blood transfusions and set backs through this whole process. Halfway through chemo, the doctors decided to stop chemo because it just wasn't working.

We lost my dad November 30th to cancer.  This is why We are raising money and running 26.2 miles. Dave’s fight is our fight! We are seeking revenge on cancer and won't stop until we kill it.

Help us in honor of Denise’s Dad and everyone else who fought or is fighting this. Will you join in the fight? Would you be so kind as to make a donation?

God Bless!

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.

Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
