Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend
Team Burke
Welcome to Team Burke's fundraising page! Jenn and I are honored to be part of Team Determination, raising money over the coming weeks for the American Cancer Society. We will be participating in the Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World in January 2025. This is a consecutive 4-day race, consisting of a 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, topped off with a Full Marathon! We formed this team because cancer has touched all of us in some way. In April of 2023, my father passed away from genetically-caused liver cancer at age 71. With the exceptional care and treatment of his doctors, we were able to have two good years together following his diagnoses before he passed. Cancer has had a profound impact on our lives, and even today we have many family and friends who are going through their own treatments and recoveries from cancer. The money our team raises helps the American Cancer Society in many ways. It's helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It's providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives, and is helping each person who is diagnosed, or who has a family member or friend who is diagnosed, with this terrible disease. Please join us and consider donating to our team. Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
