Booz Allen Hamilton--Walk with Purpose and Passion

Welcome to our Booz Allen Hamilton Team Page.

This year our team would like to honor and dedicate our fundraising efforts to Josalyn Gregory, October 1, 1954 January 26, 2019.  Josalyn was the founder and captain of Booz Allen’s Breast Cancer Team in 2017.  Her efforts and passion brought us together and we plan to continue what she has started until breast cancer is no longer a death sentence.

As a breast cancer survivor and former Booz Allen employee, Joselyn’s passion to drive the BAH Breast Cancer team and her fundraising strategies were infectious.  Just prior to our two-day, 39.3 mile walk in 2017, Josalyn broke her ankle but that did not hold her down.   Josalyn, along with her husband Edward, was there throughout the two day walk.   Josalyn, who was on crutches, was waiting for us in strategic locations along the walk.  She cheered us on, encouraged us, ensured us that our passion out shadowed our blisters and remained in the forefront.  Josalyn will remain in our hearts and with every step we take in our 2019 walk as we honor her and her passion for making a difference.

How We Support the American Cancer Society

Of course, we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraising events as we lead-up to the walk.   We promote these events through social media which includes Booz Allen Yammer, Facebook and Twitter, as well as word of mouth, and through flyers within the office and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on three things - hard work, getting the word out and your help. And we're out to do our part, will you do yours?

Help us make a difference for others touched by this horrific disease which affects one in eight women.  The American Cancer Society utilizes the funds for innovative research as well as support to those affected which includes ensuring patients have access to treatment through free rides to / from their appointments as well as a place to stay for those who must seek treatment far from their homes and of course educational information to breast cancer patients and their families as they come to terms with the disease.  In short, the money raised is used to help save lives.

This year we hope to surpass our 2017 fundraising goal. Please join us. Donate today and walk with us on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019.

Welcome to our Team Page. We've formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.

There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.

How We Support the American Cancer Society

Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
