PINK PALS

Why We are Making Strides

PINK PALS have become a symbol to us of women helping women. People with cancer taking control of their own lives, Caretakers helping those who are in need, the American Cancer Society helping in so many necessary ways – and Our goal is to raise as much money as possible to end this disease.  Lisa Mutzman is our angel.  She will always be our pal. Our PINK PAL.  Her family, Marc Mutzman, her daughters Lindsey and Maddie, her parents, sister, and her many, many friends mourn losing her to this horrible disease this past year.  So young, so fast, too soon.  BUT, her fight continues within all of us.  Her spirit lifts us to continue on. To work together and do what we can, as much as we can, for as long as we can.  Last year, our first year walking as PINK PALS, we were the number #1 Team in Boca.  We worked together to raise over $30,000 in donations WITH Lisa’s help.  We challenge ourselves to continue that fight again this year…in Lisa’s memory, we challenge you to join us in our fight in Lisa’s honor.

Her husband Marc, bravely stood up at her funeral and challenged us to remember her and to make something positive out of her death.  We stand here as PINK PALS, the group SHE STARTED, and promise you to remember her, to allow that memory to keep challenging us to find a cure, and to keep helping each other, as she helped and inspired so many of us.

Help us please! Walk with us.  Give money to help find a cure. Attend one of our fundraisers - the Lemonade Stand - buy a pink and white cookie from Doris’s bakery, or any of the other ways we try to make money.  Help us to find a cure as well as honor Lisa’s memory and help find a cure so that NO ONE has to die from this disease again.

The donations our team raises will enable investment in groundbreaking breast cancer research as well as provide free information and services for those diagnosed with the disease. More than 3.1 million breast cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday this year!

Why We Support the American Cancer Society

Saving lives from breast cancer starts one team, one walker, and one dollar at a time. We know that the American Cancer Society is the leader in the fight to end breast cancer. We know that supporting them will ensure that if you need someone to talk to anytime of the day or night, they’ll be there. If your friend is losing her hair from chemo, your mother needs a ride to treatment, or a loved one needs a place to stay when treatment is far from home, they will be there to help.

Join us and together we will walk for a world without breast cancer.

Welcome to our Team Page. We've formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.

There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.

How We Support the American Cancer Society

Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
