2021 Making Strides of Staten Island
Argie's Angels
WHY WE ARE MAKING STRIDES 2020 marks our 10th year walking How ACS helped Argentina. ACS, was there when my mom started her chemo and gave her assurance that she wasn't alone. The patient care volunteer came to see her every week and always made her smile. Spoke to her about her options and what they provided. During a visit my mom was invited to one of their beauty programs and that made her feel normal again. They also provided a wig once the hair loss occured. ACS was there to guide her and our family through a difficult time. We were never alone, we knew we had support! A little more information on breast cancer: Love, Janet

American Cancer Society by Making Strides
WHY WE ARE MAKING STRIDES
Welcome to Argie's Angels team Page!
2020 marks our 10th year walking
as Argie's Angels. Our Super Angel is not with us we know she is
watching from above smiling and bringing us lots of love. We walk to
celebrate her life but mostly we walk to bring awareness that almost
everyone has been touched by breast cancer in some way. By walking and
raising money we help American Cancer Society continue to do great work and provide programs and services to so many in need.
How ACS helped Argentina.

A little more information on breast cancer:
Today 1 of every 2 women newly diagnosed with breast cancer reaches
out to the American Cancer Society for help and support. The donations
our team raises will enable investment in groundbreaking breast cancer
research free information and services for women diagnosed with the
disease and access to mammograms for women who need them. Our
donations will help more than 2.9 million breast cancer survivors
celebrate another birthday this year!
WHY WE SUPPORT THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
Saving lives from breast cancer starts one team one walker and one
dollar at a time. We know that the American Cancer Society is the
leader in the fight to end breast cancer. We know that supporting them
will ensure that if you need someone to talk to anytime of the day or
night they'll be there. If your friend is losing her hair from chemo
your mother needs a ride to treatment or a loved one needs a place to
stay when treatment is far from home they will be there to help.
Join us and together we will walk for a world without breast cancer. Join our team, donate or both. Together we can show those with this terrible illness that they are not alone.
Love,
Janet

How You're Helping
Save Lives From Breast Cancer
Thanks to the support of so many, the American Cancer Society is there for everyone in every community touched by breast cancer. Including those who are currently dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, those who may face diagnosis in the future, and those who may avoid a diagnosis altogether thanks to education and risk reduction.

Welcome to our Team Page. We've formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.
There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.
How We Support the American Cancer Society
Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
