Music for Melons is devoted to raising funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer by doing what we do best. Performing. The team's major supporters are filled with local artists in the Orlando Metro area who have opened their wallets and usetheir talents in support of this wonderful cause. History Music for Melons is a walking team in support of The American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k. The team was founded by breast cancer survivor, Angelyn Rhode, in 2011. After battling breast cancer in 2010, Angelyn wanted to do something for the community while also raising awareness and supporting future cancer research. What better way to do that than use her talents as a local artist and educator of theatre and music. Over the past 6 years, Music for Melons has performed over a dozen shows and raised over $30,000 by raising their voices together in song.Music for Melons is comprised of Central Florida artists who use their talents to raise money for the cure. Music for Melons is a walking team in support of The American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k. The team was founded by breast cancer survivor, Angelyn Rhode, in 2011. After battling breast cancer in 2010, Angelyn wanted to do something for the community while also raising awareness and supporting future cancer research. Why We Support the American Cancer Society
Saving lives from breast cancer starts one team, one walker, and one dollar at a time. We know that the American Cancer Society is the leader in the fight to end breast cancer. We know that supporting them will ensure that if you need someone to talk to anytime of the day or night, they’ll be there. If your friend is losing her hair from chemo, your mother needs a ride to treatment, or a loved one needs a place to stay when treatment is far from home, they will be there to help.

And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
