As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 days after Christmas of 2023. Thankfully it was caught early. The diagnosis led me to more tests where I tested positive for the BRCA 2 gene mutation. I have had and will be having preventative surgeries to prevent the cancer from coming back. Because of early detection and treatment, I am currently cancer free. I get mamograms every year and have no histpry of breast or ovarian cancer in my family. Through research, breast cancer treatment has come so far.  We will be walking this year to raise money for breast cancer research as it has not only affected me and my family but many others that I know.
