Why We are Making Strides In 2006 I created team "Jerry's Kids" in memory of my dad, Jerry, who passed away after his fight with colorectal cancer. Although Dad did not have breast cancer, my heart went out to all victims of this disease. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk has been my way of keeping his memory alive and my fight against this disease continues. After more than a decade of walking in Making Strides, I was diagnosed with breast cancer myself in 2021. I now have seen first hand that the American Cancer Society helps people take steps to reduce their risk of cancer or find it early when it is easiest to treat. They provide free information and services when and where people need it throughout their journey to get well. They are investing in groundbreaking research to find, prevent, treat, and cure cancer!

Why We are Making Strides
In 2006 I created team "Jerry's Kids" in memory of my dad, Jerry, who passed away after his fight with colorectal cancer. Although Dad did not have breast cancer, my heart went out to all victims of this disease. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk has been my way of keeping his memory alive and my fight against this disease continues.
After more than a decade of walking in Making Strides, I was diagnosed with breast cancer myself in 2021. I now have seen first hand that the American Cancer Society helps people take steps to reduce their risk of cancer or find it early when it is easiest to treat. They provide free information and services when and where people need it throughout their journey to get well. They are investing in groundbreaking research to find, prevent, treat, and cure cancer!
I have signed up to walk and fundraise with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. I hope you will consider joining my team and/or making a donation in support of my efforts. If you choose not to donate online, please contact me at jkuzmicz@saintmarys.edu to make other arrangements!
