Strides RewardsBreast in Show
This year's Making Strides marks my 6th year since being diagnosed and we’re making it a team effort! "Breast in Show" is our team name, and it’s more than pun and games. It inspires us to SHOW up for each other, with our BEST selves, while paying the love and support forward to anyone else facing breast cancer in all the ways it can show up (e.g., scary mammogram results, diagnosis anxiety, treatment fatigue, fear of recurrence, etc). We might not be able to change the fact that one in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, but with surveillance, vigilance and action we can feel more empowered. As always we strive to be a part of something larger than ourselves by raising funds and awareness. By contributing to the American Cancer Society we ensure that life enhancing services and resources will continue to be made available to all who are impacted by breast cancer and many other cancers. Some of us have walked in Pasco County/Shops at Wiregrass's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for the past several years, and this year we look forward to walking together as a team on Sunday, October 6th, 2024. I sincerely hope that there will come a day where the distress caused by breast cancer is a thing of the past. And until it arrives, I'm walking to inspire hope to those facing the disease and raising money for this important cause. I hope you'll consider participating too. For anyone who has faced any cancer, feeling seen and supported by others means so much. So, I'm excited to be able to join with all the other survivors, thrivers, and loved ones in person, again, this year at the Pasco County Strides event. Why I Support the American Cancer Society Breast cancer doesn't take a break, not during hurricanes or election cycles, or even when we're too busy to think about it, so neither can we. Events like Strides remind us all to stay vigilant and get the screening and care we need. Every day, the American Cancer Society helps people take steps to reduce their risk of breast (and other) cancer(s) or find it early when it is easiest to treat. They provide free information and services when and where people need it throughout their journey to get well. They are investing in innovative research to find, prevent, and treat breast cancer as well as so many other life threatening cancers. This year, Mario & me, Marina, Kim & Skip Saldan, Suzy & Peter Duic, Jody & Yoav Rappaport, as well as whomever else can join us, are happy to have our Breast in Show team join the Pasco County/Shoppes at Wiregrass Making Strides event on Sunday October 6th, and fundraise for 2024. I hope you will consider joining us and/or making a donation. Especially in light of all the things we wish we could change but maybe don't have the power to, it's nice to think we can still work together to make something better, especially something as life changing as cancer survival. Thank you so much for joining us, for your contribution, and most of all for your love and support! Together, we can make a difference. In solidarity, and with much gratitude and love,
-Andie

Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
As of January 2022, we have invested $71 M for potentially lifesaving breast cancer specific research grants.
We have received over 250,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2021
Cancer patients benefited from ACS transportation support through our Road TO Recovery program and transportation grants in 2021, with nearly 229,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against breast cancer.

Strides RewardsThis isn’t what I wanted.
Welcome to our Team Page. We've formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.
There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.
How We Support the American Cancer Society
Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
