Team Tim

Tim lost his battle with cancer after a long courageous fight. He was diganosed with an extremely rare form of sarcoma cancer in 2000 and had been in remission until 2015, but the spirit of Team Tim passed away Friday, October 7, 2016. Generous, thoughtful, kind and creative, the world lost a great husband, father, son, brother and friend that day. We loved Tim dearly, and are profoundly saddened by our loss.

Tim was a celebrated sports photographer. His credits include Sports Illustrated, Newsweek and ESPN the Magazine, as well as campaigns for EA Sports, Coors, Coca-Cola, Top-Flight, Oakley, Epson, the National Guard and so many more.

Among his many awards and achievements, Tim won two Emmys for his television series SnapShot, which first aired on PBS television in 2014. SnapShot was the perfect medium for Tim's unique personality, humor and story telling style.

Tim's passion for the art of photography culminated in his highly successful and celebrated book Behind Photographs. The project began in 2006 with a giant 20 x 24 inch Polariod camera and the idea to document the work of the most notable photographers of our times who collectively captured decades of culture and celebrity with their own cameras.

Always thinking of others, Tim was constantly donating his time and professional skills to many people and organizations, as evidenced by his work with the Challenged Athletes Foundation, as well as other charities. He also invited photography classes into the studio and gave countless talks and lectures around the world to help further the craft of lighting and picture taking.

Tim's work gave him access to professional athletes, world-class business owners and even the Dali Lama. His creative life was full, as was his family life. Tim is survived by his wife, Lynn, his son, Lucas, his parents, Ken and Mary Ann, his sister, Beth and his faithful campanion, Turq.

Team Tim has raised over $114,000 at the Petaluma Relay for Life since Tim's original Diagnosis in 2000.

We miss him each and every day!

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.

Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
